Anyone celebrating Taco Tuesday this evening? If so, here's a quick post for a great taco seasoning recipe for those who are freaked out by what's in the little seasoning package at the grocery store (scarrry, I know).
Make it as mild or as spicy as you like! I prefer runny-nose inducing spice :)
Taco Seasoning
(adapted from AllRecipes Taco Seasoning I)
(Makes enough for 1 lb burger/turkey/chicken/woop woop)

- 1 T chili powder
- 1 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion flakes
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Cook into taco filling of choice*, sprinkle it on popcorn or mix it in double baked 'taters! Serve with tissues.
*A Thalice Tip - I like to whisk the seasoning into
2/3 cup water (when cooking with a pound of meat), adding the spice broth to the meat once it has started to cook. I let the mixture simmer until the liquid has reduced to a sauce consistency and the meat has cooked through.
¡Happy Tuesday, mis amigos!
